Our mission is to reveal and develop genius, an exceptional natural capacity shown in creative and original work, in every child. We foster the progress of each individual as a cohesive being: heart, mind and body. Cedarwood Academy is a school in which children are allowed and encouraged to pursue their interests and passion for learning from a young age; where nature and people serve as inspiration; where diversity is embraced and challenges are viewed as opportunities for improvement.

The goals of our work are:
To create an environment that will teach children to use their thoughts to combine the information available today in ways that will allow new knowledge to enter our world;
To create an environment in which children learn to understand and appreciate their connectivity to everything, thus enabling more conscious decision making to enter our world;
To integrate the strengths of each individual in order to create an inspiring and cohesive school community.
Unique Aspects of Cedarwood Academy:
- The “classroom” is a natural outdoor environment.
- Classes are multi-age.

- School is in session year-round.
- Parents are actively involved in a variety of ways.
- Restorative Practices (peaceful communication) are used as an approach to interpersonal relationships among people of all ages.
- Service projects are incorporated into the curriculum.
- Meaningful learning opportunities are abound for both children and adults.
